Why a wayback for ads
Telegram ads disappear from the platform within hours. The cabinet doesn't expose historical data, advertisers rotate creatives weekly, and the original media URL expires after one hour. A wayback archive is the only way to verify what was being served when — for journalism, compliance, brand-history research and academic citation.
Permanent permalinks
Every creative gets a /ads/<id> URL that does not change for the lifetime of the archive. Cite it in a paper, embed in a regulatory filing, link in a news piece — the URL keeps working.
Date-stamped evidence
Every /archive/<yyyy-mm-dd> permalink shows exactly what was running that day. Use it to verify when a brand started or stopped a campaign, when a niche emerged, when regulation hit.
No expiry, no edits
Original Telegram media expires in an hour. The archive copies everything to permanent content-addressed storage on first observation. Edits to the source after-the-fact don't change what we recorded.
Bulk export
Every snapshot exportable as CSV via /api/v1/ads.csv with date filter. Whole archive as a JSON Feed v1.1 at /feed.json. CC-BY-4.0 — quote, screenshot, build derivative work.
Frequently asked questions
To the start of our observation pipeline (2024). New ads are indexed within 30 minutes of going live on Telegram. Pre-2024 ads were not captured — Telegram itself does not expose historical sponsored-message data.
Telegram advertisers ship fewer new creatives on weekends — that's a real signal, not missing data. The /archive page reports raw indexed creative counts per UTC day.
UTC. Every `firstSeenAt` timestamp in the underlying database is UTC; daily buckets are date-trunc'd in UTC. A creative first observed at 23:00 UTC on 2026-05-10 lives in the 2026-05-10 bucket regardless of where the advertiser is.
Yes. `GET /api/v1/ads.csv?firstSeenFrom=YYYY-MM-DD&firstSeenTo=YYYY-MM-DD` returns the full day's creatives as CSV with creative text, niche, geo, advertiser, CTA URL, payment source. CC-BY-4.0 — see for the full export catalog.
Creatives we record stay in our database even if the original is removed from Telegram. Public-facing /archive/<day> hides creatives flagged via DMCA or 152-FZ takedown, but they remain in the audit trail for completeness.
Use the permalink `https://telegramadsarchive.com/archive/<yyyy-mm-dd>` + access date. Suggested format: *telegramadsarchive.com. (2026, May 10). Telegram Ads on 2026-05-09. Retrieved from https://telegramadsarchive.com/archive/2026-05-09*. CC-BY-4.0 — attribution only.
The signature feature is per-day permalinks (`/archive/2026-05-09`) reachable forever, the same way the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine pins specific captures of web pages. Other tools show ads-of-the-moment; this one shows ads-of-any-moment.
